The next coin in the Bush Babies series has been released by The Perth Mint -Bilby!

Shortly after subscribing to the series I decided to start a second set. Now these are doing so well I can't even get my hands on an issue price one to complete a second set I am collecting! Oh well, I'm glad they are doing well at least.

New coins released: Bush Babies - Australian Sugar Glider and Young Collectors - Backyard Bugs

The next coin in the Australian Bush Babies series, the sugar glider, was released earlier this month.The sugar glider coin is my personal favourite in the series and I had the most fun illustrating it. Sugar gliders have such beautiful fur patterns and are just all round adorable little creatures.

Also released in August, the Young Collectors Backyard Bugs coin collection. I worked on the coins and some of the packaging. This project was still in the works when I left the Mint and the other designers have done an amazing job with the packing and booklets. The new website looks great too.

Bush Babies Released: Australian Kangaroo

How exciting, I just read that in June The Perth Mint will be releasing the first coin in the Bush Babies series. The series was designed by yours truly, but not without the feedback and support of the some other great people at the Mint of course! Talisman coins has done a much longer write up on the series here although I would like to correct that I was previously located in Perth and have now relocated to Melbourne.

Below is the the first coin to be released, a red kangaroo joey. There will be a total of five coins in the series and a box is available in which to display them all. You can get some idea of what the other designs will be like from the packaging images available here.

These were a lot of fun to illustrate. I love digital illustration and animals so it was a really enjoyable project for me. I hope people enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
